Plant an Evergreen with CWD and Friends of Trees - 2/3/2010
CWD and Friends of Trees, a local non profit, recently partnered on the Plant an Evergreen campaign helping develop areas of Portland through forestry.
In this campaign, CWD will make a donation on behalf of each new client that signs on to use our Evergreen CMS platform. This donation will go toward the planting of a young evergreen tree through the Friends of Trees' Gift Tree program. We created this campaign to symbolize the creation of a new partnership with our clients and support a more sustainable environment, which CWD heavily promotes.
The campaign began as our developers would term the setup of each new Evergreen account as "planting an evergreen". In the later months of 2009, we began developing a strategy for the campaign and joined with Friends of Trees to literally bring this program to life. Friends of Trees will plant, maintain, and provided certification with the donation through the Gift Trees program. The biannual planting events take place in Collins Sanctuary in Forest Park, Portland, OR.
